Yeah, you heard it right! The best guide ever, just buy an iPhone from AAPL or ATT and sit there in the store and unlock it – the simplest it can ever get! You need WiFi btb!!No Mac or PC required! Unlock the iPhone straight out of the box! Save the money from investing in Unlocking software and use it wisely 
1. Slide for Emergency calls, dial *#307# press call, now use the back button on the top of your screen to remove *#307# , now enter 0 , press call, press answer, press hold, press decline. Now you get to the contact list.
2. Push contacts and add a new contact and type in “prefs://11″ as web-address and “http://jailbreakme.com” as an additional URL.
4. When you tap “prefs://11″ you can now select your preferred WiFi gateway. I recommend an open WiFi network 
5. Now press the home button and move the slider to the dial-pad. Repeat step 1 till you can access contacts.
6. Now you can go back to the contact list by Dialing 0, push call, then answer, then contacts, then hit the “http://jailbreakme.com” web address you typed in.
7. Scroll down to the bottom, click “Install AppSnapp”. Safari will exit and you’ll return to your springboard. Wait for the phone to reboot. Your phone is now jailbroken and Installer.app is ready to be explored (If it refuses to install, try installing it till you see the downloading thingy on the screen! It took more than 6 attempts on one of my friend’s iPhone!)
Well, at this stage, your iPhone should be activated partially – Cingular should work just fine! All the other networks should do a little tweaking to use your iPhone as a phone!
Unlock your iPhone :
Launch Installer.app and then click on “Sources” – > “Edit” – > “Add” – > Type i.unlock.no after http:// – > “Ok” -> Now anySIM 1.1.1 should show under “Unlocking Tools” – > Click on it and install it! You can now see anySIM icon on the Homescreen. Click on it and follow the instructions! Vodafone, T-mobile, 3 and what not, everyone can join the bandwagon now!!

I used this method to unlock my new iphone with version 1.1.1 and modem firmware 04.01.13_G and then I put in my Tmobile sim and it worked fine. Then, I plugged it into itunes 7.3 and accidentally updated my phone to version 1.1.2 and 04.02.13_G and my Tmobile sim card no longer work. Can I undo or downgrade it to the original, or, then what? The reason I asked my previous question, was because I saw the video on YOUTUBE, using this style of method, but not stating whether he used this page as the main source, he just did it on the video. He successfully unlocked it, it is just that when he demonstrated it and he clicked on YouTube, and he said, “I haven’t fixed YouTube yet.” That is what had me questioning your method. That is why I wondered if all features were enabled as well. One more question though, do you know if we are able to use gmaps at all?

well, we can downgrade it for sure but I suggest you wait before a concrete solution is found for the downgrade cos the baseband firmware might be different.
Virginize is to unpatch the unlocked firmware, you need to use it only if you unlock and then update to 1.1.2. It us present in installer.app

Considering the fact that the iPhone I decide to purchase this December will have 1.1.2, you consider that I wait, or can I downgrade it to 1.1.1, then do the method stated in this page? suddenly having anysim trouble with my unlocked 1.0.2 iphone; it wont leave the activate iphone screen with wallpper, even after infinite rebootings(which used to clear it up);though I can still see all my installed aplications with iBricker9 and modify them.
I think need to re-process my anysim to fix the error but do not know how to access it. any help? Please?

I would suggest you to restore the firmware to 1.1.1 and then try iBrickr

well, if you can’t get past the activation screen – I would suggest iDemocracy/iNdependence to make it boot. iphones can’t be bricked so easily, hence don’t fear to experiment. Again, restoring should not harm your iPhone but restore with 1.0.2.

I recently purchased an iPhone with firmware 1.1.2 already installed on it. I have been reading many articles and have been to many forums that are saying, unlocking an out-of-the box 1.1.2 iPhone is impossible because of the new bootloader. I would really like to unlock my iPhone so I can use it, and I am wondering if this is possible or not. If it is, is there any way you can walk me through it so that I can unlock. If it isn’t possible, what do you recommend? Should I return the iPhone and get a full refund or hang on to it. Thanks in advance.

I suggest you wait few more days and then get a full refund (after waiting for 29 days!!). But, it should be out – jus a matter of time!

Hey dude I was speaking to a guy in a store near my school today, and he said that a 1.1.2 OTB can be unlocked and he has done it previously on 5 handsets. He said it takes around 4 hours to complete the process, but once its done it is fully functional with all features working and with capabilities of using any SIM card that you wish. I think I’m ganna go ahead and let him do it, and if I get mine unlocked I’ll share the wisdom.

I read the significance of the serial number and it says that 1.1.1′s were released on week number 39 and on. You know the date 1.1.1 was released, or know when iPhone’s with 1.1.2 were released, or if you know the week number it was released as well, so that I may know which exact iPhone to get when I get it?

If you get a phone week 40 and under chances are you will have the old bootloader in which case you will be able to fully unlock the phone using anySIM. Anything above that and there is a possibility that you will have the new bootloader which is version 4.6. The phone I have is week 47 and it has the new one as well.
i just got my iphone today….tried following the steps given above tgo unlock it, but on clicking pref://11 nothing comes up and when i click http://jailbreakme.com ….it says, safari couldnt find a server….and then the phone just kinda hangs….and has to be restarted…i wanna use this phone overseas….i just bought it in the US…. i am guessing its 1.1.2. but am not sure….wat do u recommed….?

First of all the address you have written on your message is wrong. What you have witten is:
pref://11
You are missing an “s”. What you should write is:
prefs://11
And in order for Safari to connect to jailbreakme.com you must first connect to a network via wi-fi. So if you have internet access around you, connect to it, then try the process all over again.
And just so you know, if your phone came with version 1.1.2 out of the box, there is no unlock code for it. You can only break it and use it as an iTouch for the time being, until the Dev Team finds an unlock for it.

Follow these steps very carefully.
1. Power your iPhone.
2. Slide to unlock for an emergency call.
3. Dial *#307# and press call.
4. You will notice that your iPhone will start to ring.
5. Delete the last number you dialed (*#307#) and dial 1 and press call.
6. You will notice that “1″ is calling you. Accept the call.
7. Once you accept, put that call on hold.
8. As soon as you do, “1″ will call you again. This time ignore it.
9. Once this is complete you will be at a menu where you can see Contacts, Favorites, Recents and so on. Select contacts.
10. Add a new contact, and under url type in prefs://11
11. Save the contact, and then go to your contacts list.
12. That should be the only contact on your list, so click on it.
13. By click on the contact (prefs://11) you will activate yet another menu. Here you can mess around with wallpaper, ringtones and some other settings.
13. Select general.
14. Select about.
15. Under about, you will see what firmware you have on it.
If you have 1.1.1 yo can jailbreak it and unlock it. If you have 1.1.2 you can only jailbreak for the time being, but no unlock due to the new bootloader. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your helpful reply regarding firmware identification. I read up on a site and it says that if the 4th and 5th digits are 39 or under it will have the old 1.0.2, and if the number is 40 or above, then it is 1.1.1 or newer. The only thing I need is what week number 1.1.2 came out, so i know which one to buy. I called my local Apple store, and the representative told me that they still have iPhones with 1.1.1 in stock! But they wouldn’t know which one would have 1.1.1 or 1.1.2, I told them, “Hey, no problem, I’ll tell you which has which:).” Considering yours is week 47 and it has 1.1.2, I think I should stick to finding one with at least 45 and under, and to be totally safe, might as well get one that has 40. If you know what week 1.1.2 came out I’d greatly appreciate if you could tell me, and again, thannks Manix for your help. I greatly appreciate it.

What firmware do you think it has Manix, or Admin? Reason I ask is so that I know that week 44 is considered 1.1.1, or 1.1.2.

From what I know a week 44 is most likely to have 1.1.2 firmware. It is highly unlikely that week 44 builds have the old version and old bootloader. As a matter of fact I have seen week 41 phones with the new firmware and the new bootloader. That being said, if you follow the steps that I have mentioned above you can very easily check your version number. Another quick and easy way to check your firmware is by doing the following:
1. Take your phone out the box. Don’t connect it to anything. Just as is.
2. Power it, and slide it over to make an emergency call.
3. Dial *3001#12345#*.
4. This will bring up a menu. Go under version and your version will be displayed.
Amart, if you want to be SURE that you buy a phone with the old firmware, when you go to purchase the phone ask to look at the back of the box. If you see any with 41 and lower, you can feel pretty confident in it having the old firmware. That being said, I told you that I have seen 41′s with new bootloader and firmware.
But on a positive note, the hack for 1.1.2 is coming soon, so whatever version you have, you’ll be happy soon enough.

hey manix, so your just sittin around with that nice new phone waiting for the unlock to be released? good to know someone else has the same problem!! are you with rogers? have you been able to use it at all yet? can we block future updates from automatically happening so we wont have to keep having this problem? is it like itunes, you can reject updates?

Yep I’m exactly in the same position as you. I am not with Rogers, I’m a Fido subscriber but yes I’m just sitting here and waiting for the unlock to come (which will be soon). Now your phone isn’t completely useless. You can activate and jailbreak it so that you can use it as an iPod Touch. This basically means you can enjoy every single feature of it, except SMS and the actual phone itself, because it can’t be unlocked. However I have not done this yet, because I don’t want to risk anything. I just want to unlock it once and for all and not worry about it. Yes you can block future updates. It is very easy. Once your phone is unlocked, when iTunes offers an update for it, click no, and check the check box that says “Do not remind me about this update ever again”. This will never prompt you to update until new firmware is released, so you can enjoy your unlocked iPhone. Just sit tight, because I’m sure the iPhone Dev Team will crack this firmware as they have with prior firmwares.

In the above tutorial, admin does not specify if he takes out the sim card. Can I leave the AT&T sim card that it comes with in the iPhone from the beginning of the tutorial, even until the end of the tutorial? Do I take the sim card out before starting the tutorial at all? Do I take it out before running anysim 1.1.1? Please I have heard many people having problems saying that at the end, they get a message saying ”use an AT&T sim.” please I want to know. I saw the 1.1.2 week 41 build in the states in a Michigan store. But to be honest, it’s rare and is not likely to happen. What you need to ask at the Apple store is what bootloader your phone will have. If they say 4.6 it can’t be unlocked, if they say 3.9 than you’re good to go. If you get a phone thats 1.1.1 out of the box chances are you will have the old bootloader in which case you’d be ok. As far as the AT&T sim card goes, to be honest I’m not sure, cuz I haven’t tried that method. The admin will be able to answer it for you.
@ Manix : Thanks for the active participation. Yeah, AT&T,Cingular works just fine without contract even with 1.1.2, din’t really try OTB 1.1.2 with Cingular/ATT but cos’ we can activate it as iPod/Safari capable device – we shud be able to use it as a phone too!!

Do I need to take out the ATT sim the iPhone comes with before beginning this process, or do I need to take it out before running anysim, or do I have to take it out at all? Do I need to do this whole process on this page with NO sim card in Sim card slot? An Additional question, I read many forums today that the only thing you can do is activate it to the springboard as an iPod Touch only by downgrading the firmware to 1.1.1 but since the bootloader is 4.06 no unlock is official yet……

How much you want for it, and where exactly can I find it, I tried looking it up in NJ but there is North NJ, South NJ, and Central NJ, and what does your ad say so that I may find it. I read here that the I Phones OTB with ver1.1.2 firmware can be activated and jailbroken just not unlocked, so it can be used as a ipod touch. But i cant find the instructions to do that?Is the procedure the same as that for activating the ver1.1.1 in this post?

hey-A guy who works at the source said the iphone will be sold in canada this february, mines from the states, it’ll still have to be unlocked etc, and it’ll be different from the canadian ones that will be sold right? When I get it next week and I take it out of the box (im in canada) do i put my rogers sim in, the at & t one or none at all when i do this firmware search and unlock process?? also do i take it right out of the box and try the unlock or do i hook it up to an outlet or computer first????

@ Tawheed : You are having a 4.06 bootloader iPhone. Bootloader is different from modem firmware. I don’t know of a crack yet. You might want to try the link you posted earlier and let us all know if it works

o and also, when I put in my rogers card I have disabled wireless internet use b/c its too expensive, but when i put in the at&t sim card, i get free wireless….theres no way for them to charge me if I dont have my sim card in is there?
BEATZ- I had the same problem-when I initially checked the firmware, i went back and did step one and it wouldnt call anyone, i turned it on hold and then back on to emergency calls and it worked, i kept messing up and having to go back to the emerg call screen and it hung up, just turn it on hold and back on or even power it off if you have to, then just follow the steps untill you get it and try to not go back to step 1 if you can avoid it.
JOEY-I think the unlock only works for firmware 1.1.1 and now itunes only seems to upgrade it to 1.1.2-at least mine does

i just bought an iphone today in the UK and immediately followed these instructions to unlock it.
though i could get to the contacts screen, the jailbreakme.com site opens but i am stuck at the blue question mark at the y.tiff page of the appsnapp link. there is absolutely no progress after this despite refreshing the page several times.
i have not yet linked my iphone to itunes so i have yet to activate the phone on the O2 network. i am not able to understand what to do after this. how do i get the iphone to factory settings so that i can follow the procedure again? also .. pardon me for asking this.. is the firmware on my iphone 1.1.2?

If it is not 1.1.1, this method won’t work. Let me know the version, we can help you further!

i have downgraded to 1.1.1 and downloaded anySIM but it wont work. it says anySIM canot unlock this phone, anySIM will now quit. what should i do?

Yep it is possible to do that except for the unlock part which is yet to be found. Yeah, you can activate it via other means but again – no phone functionality works for the OTB 1.1.2 iphones. Which means that you can use it as iPod,PDA but no calls/sms/edge. Lemme know if you are looking to partially activate your iPhone

The installer tells me that I have 1.0.2 firmware and that I must use itunes to restore the phone to 1.1.1- but Itunes says it won’t recognize my phone because it does not have a sim card it will recognize- namely my T-mobile sim card.

@ Vallday : Did you follow the steps for 1.1.3 http://ilikemyiphone.com/?p=143 ?? If they didn’t work, I presume you have an OTB 1.1.3 iPhone which cannot be jailbroken I believe. It won’t be long before it is released though..

what is bricking your phone?, and what is OTB, and are there differnt jailbreaks for different firmwares? i cant get passed the jailbreak me. when i connect on wifi, i hit jailbreak me and then app.snapp installer comes up but when i click on app.snapp it jumps bakc to the activation screen,,can somebody help me, on what to do next.?
another question,, i downgraded to 1.0.2, the next step was to use ibrickr and when i use it i go through the prompts and i get to a point that it just resets and command lines look like they download and then it cuts of and on and repaets the same thing, i got it to reset, but im wondering is this the next step. i read that this is what happens when you try and downgrade from 1.1.3 to 1.0.2 and there is no getting passed that activation screen once you doengrade to 1.0.2, is that true,, will i be able to get pass the activation screen and use my t-mobile sim card? need halp,, this is like my 5 day tryin gto gt passed this, help please. anybody//////////thankyou

Firstly, 1.0.2 has no Jailbreakme kinda jailbreak. 1.0.2 is passe and you have to downgrade to 1.1.1 nowadays to do anything, not 1.0.2. You have to upgrade to 1.1.1 and then follow my post here. Hope it resolves all your issues

HEEEELLLLPPPPP MEEEEE!! I have a Verson 04.03.13_G iphone….I’ve installed the Firmware 1.1.1, but when I try to jailbreak it (using *#301# and 0 or *#307# and 1) I can’t get to the “normal dialer” menu so I can select contacts. It just puts me back at the “slide for Emergency” menu…..HELP PLEASE!!
Help me!! I downgraded my Version 04.03.13_G iphone to the 1.1.1 firmware and am trying to “jailbreak” (using the *#301# and 0, also the *#307# and 1). After countless attempts, I am redirected to the “slide for emergency call” screen. I never make it to the “contact” or “normal dialer” screen as mentioned above!! i’m from canada and i purchased an unlocked iphone a few months ago. i enjoyed it for a while cause i can download any 3rd party apps through the program installed with it when i first purchased it. however, i downloaded an app that moved my 3rd party apps installer to the bottom of the screen. now i cant install any apps. can u help me with this problem? should i follow the steps above to install this diff app or should i do something else?

@ Sai : Please do check my latest posts on much better methods (efficient and easier). I would recommend to 1.1.2 (atleast) and then jailbreak using ZiPhoneGUI or iJailbreak…

when i try to upgrade to 1.1.2 though, itunes only allows me to upgrade to their latest firmware which is 1.1.3. I’m not sure where to get it, but i am very willing to upgrade.

Hi! You can use ZiPhone to put installer.app on your iPhone. ApolloIM solves your AIM needs, not sure about MSN though!
