There is an option to upload packages to the iPhone during the unlock/jailbreak process in the name of Brazil and International payload.
Aviegas says “Brazil payload adds some extra stuff like Carrier Bundles, Translations, time zone fixes (Daylight saving time issues) and fixes the phone number formating.” rules.
“Downgrading is performed with a minimal system (the ramdisk) so it’s perfectly safe as no phone specific stuff is running, just Darwin (the underlying part of MacOS, a Unix derivative).
So it’s as safe as running in 1.0.2!!”
iPlus can be used only for 1.1.4 firmware though. Zibri denied using this fake bootloader approach only because this came right from iPhone Dev’s kitchen!!

So, what is this fakeblank boot loader (3.9) thing all about ?? This means your iPhone unlock is COMPLETELY reversible unlike Zibri’s. No offense to Zibri but this is a much safer bootloader rather than tinkering with the stock bootloader. Using this, iPhone functions perfectly with 1.1.4 slapped on a 4.04 baseband which is not the case when you use Zibri’s which sacrifices 4.04 baseband features.
What about iPhone users with 1.1.3 or older firmwares, RESTORE to 1.1.4 via iTunes and use iPlus.
Follow this guide from iClarified for a detailed step by step procedure (Windows only for now). I will do a Mac version once released and may be a video on a brand new 16GB iPhone 
p.s : “Repair Needed” is a common error with iPlus. Restore to 1.1.4 and rerun iPlus to Rock and Roll!!

Yeah, search for SoLoR tools to get to fake BL 4.6 but why do you want to do that? You might want to get to 1.1.3 using 3.9 BL and 4.04 baseband..

What if your iPhone has 3.9BL – does this modify that, or leave it untouched?

Well, once ZiPhone is used, I fear there is no more bootloader upgrade / downgrade unless you want to open up your iPhone and do it the hardware way…

However when I try to a command prompt and run iplus -u it says that “iplus is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. I am using windows xp. hey matrix before you type iplus -u into the command prompt you first have to type “cd desktop/iplus2.0″ and hit enter
so you type cd desktop/iplus2.0 (enter) and then
iplus -u (enter)
also make sure you unzip iplus to your desktop before all this

Rob : Trust me, it will work :: Open Command Prompt and then type in cd ‘space’ and drag and drop the iPlus folder on to the command prompt window as shown in the video in this post.

I unlocked my phone using Ziphone, every feature seems to be working ok. I have one problem though, my phone displays the number instead of the name of the person. Would the problem be solved if I did the following:
1)Refurbished the phone using Ziphone
2)Restored ver 1.1.4 using Itunes
3)Unlocked it again using Iplus 2.0b (with the International support package)
NB NB NB!!! Can I use Iplus software after I have used Ziphone to unlock my phone.

Frankly speaking, I haven’t used ZiPhone ever since iPlus was released. With ZiPhone, 3.9BL is forced hence iPlus won’t downgrade your bootloader .. so you can happily go ahead and follow the steps you mentioned! It should work
Here’s my fix to the YouTube problem. This should apply to others with legit AT&T sims in their iPhone. Restore to 1.1.4 using iTunes (Mac OS X). While iPhone reboots, disconnect it and disconnect your computer from the internet (I simply turned my Airport off). Reconnect iPhone and run iTunes. Dismiss error about turning on Internet to connect to iTunes Store. Quit iTunes and kill iTunesHelper using Activity Monitor. Run iPlus and let it do its thing. When done, your legit AT&T sim will be activated (I noticed bars and EDGE as well as a green charging battery screen instead of a “Connect to iTunes” screen). Unlock screen and run Installer, install YouTube fix via Tweaks (1.1.4). Youtube is fixed!!
Run iTunes and sync all info (contact, music, mail, calendar, etc.) back. And YouTube still works!!!

If I carried out the procedure mentioned above would the phone display the name instead of the number of the contact. Please excuse my ignorance,would I be correct in saying that one of the funtions of the International support package is to enable the phone to display the name of the contact

I have won (yes “won”) either an Iphone 8gb or an Itouch 16gb and I’m trying to decide which one to choose. I have an existing T-Mobile account that I’m committed to for at least another year and a half, so my questions are severalfold… First, will Iplus unlock this new Iphone right out of the box without a prior AT&T activation so that I can use it with my T-Mobile account? Second, does anybody know if the T-Mobile account will support web-browsing with the Iphone? Third, which one would you folks choose – the 8gb Iphone or the 16gb Itouch?

First things first Hi everyone, Its my first post so I thought the least I should do is say Hi.
I used iPlus the other night to Unlock, Jailbreak and put installer and packages on my iPhone. I used Windows iTunes & a 1.1.4 restore file.
First I used ziphone to put my iPhone in recovery mode and closed Ziphone for good; I then restored to 1.1.4 and activated it using iTunes. I then used CMD Prompt & iPlus [-u] to Unlock, Jailbreak and put the installer and packages & Apps on My iPhone. My iPhone is now jailbroke with loads of great Apps on it.
But I can not get any other Sim Cards to work in it. I think the problem has something to do with the fact that (if you go into settings, the third symbol down is called carrier. I can only see carrier in Settings when I have the original SIM Card in the iPhone.
Can someone please HELP or give me some advise.

I have updated my new iPhone from 1.1.1 to 1.1.4 using Update option, not Restore option. Now can I use iPlus and unlock my phone or do I need to Restore it again.

Chandra : Restore wipes the iPhone clean, hence it is suggested you restore rather than update..
To all,
First the scenario:
16GB iPhone, 1.1.4 firmware, AT&T network (previously activated using iTunes), unlock using iPlus
Restored phone to 1.1.4 using iTunes, Unlocked iPhone using iPlus, upon completion everything worked except YouTube.
Tried various senerios described above but finally found a procedure that works (now on three different phones)
Here you go:
Sync iPhone to be sure you have good backup of data
Take SIM out of phone
Put iPhone into Restore mode and restore firmware using iTunes
When restore is complete, Close iTunes and Quit iTuneshelper and iTunes in ActivityMonitor
Leave SIM out of iPhone and unlock iPhone with iPlus following the procedure
When iPlus is complete, re-install SIM
iPhone is completely unlocked and all applications (including YouTube) function perfectly.

I used iPlus2.0b(Windows Version) with the International Payload to Jailbreak\Activate and Unlock an OTB 1.1.3 16MB(UK/O2) IPhone and it worked a treat. I followed the instructions to the letter restoring the Iphone to 1.1.4 first and running iPlus.
Okay, Hi All, thank you for a wonderful app, unfortunately I already restored my iPhone from 1.1.3 (jailbroken) to 1.1.4 via itunes went fine, You Tube back etc. all PERFECT, then I jailbroke with the latest ZiPhone 3.0 so I could add apps, customize, etc. all went VERY smooth as well, Youtube working, google locater spot on for me etc. NOW, my question is, can I re-restore in iTunes to 1.1.4 and use iPlus instead since it claims to be safer? Do I need to restore in iTunes first if it is possible before running iPlus? Or can I just run iPlus over the top of the existing ZiPhone 3.0 jailbroken 1.1.4?

I am not sure if we can reflash the bootloader since ZiPhone forces a factory bootloader (3.9) instead of fake BL, you should not have any problems for now though… we might cget a solution soon.. (hardware solution exists which is too risky!)…. Enjoy your iPhone, stop worrying about bootloader for now

LOL Thank you, yes everything works great and I didn’t want to fix what was not borken, previously to ZiPhone 3.0 my 1.1.3 You Tube and Google wasn’t working so that’s what provoked me to do a restore in itunes, and then Zihone it again and it went great…if I needed too, could I restore in iTunes to factory (apple) 1.1.4 without bricking do you think?

Just use iPlus -j -a for jailbreak and activate. But never go back to 1.0.2 or 1.1.1 NEVER

It’s very tempting to do the restore and iPlus but I’ve successfully jailbroken once today which took about 15 minutes or less after downloading the 1.1.4 package and I’m a bit reluctant to “push my luck” but great to know I can go back if I need to without bricking…I promise I won’t go back to 1.0.2 or 1.1.1 EVER

Yea I am running Tiger a well OSX 10.4.11 i think, so can i run iplus 2.0 on it? also a question to Larry Knight I am assuming you used mac and not windows to do the unlocking and during the whole unlocking process did you let the internet(airplane mode) connected or was it off?
I just download BBinfo after Ziphone’s jailbreak and it said BL was 4.6. Is this a mistake or does Ziphone not downgrade the BL after all?
I stopped using ZiPhone for a long time now. If it is 4.6, I suggest you try iPlus, that will make things clear. Use iLiberty+ … much easier!

Not that I’m knocking iPlus, but Ziphone is very easy. I don’t see the reason, if the BL is not downgraded. Maybe it’s being misreported? It looks like iPlus does use the 3.9 BL but can restore the 4.6? Also, the BB stated 4.0.4, and all features seem to work. Am I missing something? I did a restore on my phone last night and am waiting to JB it again until I get some clarification which I fully understand.
Christy : I tried it both ways (with SIM and without it (dummy ATT sim) and it worked just fine! Again, I tried with iTunes open and I quit iTunes on another iPhone and it worked great!
brett : You are free to choose ZiPhone but you are on your own if you do that cos’ with the release of ipsw builder and pwned tool – we might have to play around with different bootloaders and yeah, for warranty purposes : ZiPhone voids it completely while iPlus doesn’t!

I restored with apples 1.1.4 then “iPlussed” it fine with no hassles, with ZiPhone, I didn’t have bluetooth connectivity, Now it all works wifi, BT, etc. and jailbroken “safely”. Now that the Pwnage tool is out I may try that, but not yet as I’m totally happy right now and don’t want to do it all again. successfully running 1.1.4 jailbroken with WIFI, BT, YouTube, Google maps/locator etc. all working perfectly!!!

Hey Dave, I used ZiPhone first and it worked great and has in the past as well, but I noticed my Bluetooth wasn’t an option to be turned on even in the prefs, so I re-tooled via iTunes (restore) and than used iPlus and I have everything working fine You Tube, Google, BT, wifi etc. so I’d personally have to say iPlus is better…your mileage may vary, but Zibri has been getting some bad accusations of theft of code and to me that’s just not cool, so I’m glad I used iPlus anyway!

Oh, Hi Dave, BlueTooth (BT) my previous attempt I thought went great with Zibri 3.0, but I noticed my Bluetooth setting to turn on was grayed out, so I factory reset through itunes, then “iPlussed” it and it was working again…as before your mileage may vary

Customize does work, however I noticed a slow-down of overall perfomance when I used it (slower screen redraws when coming out of smb prefs), and I really don’t use it anyway so I uninstalled. Make sure you install the proper version for your firmware eg: 1.1.3, 1.1.4 etc. There are a few tricks through installer to make it work if you have problems.

But why put a 3G sim Card in an EDGE iPhone, when it won’t boost speeds etc anyway? It’s not like I can get a firmware update for my iPhone, it’s all in the hardware correct? Weird…

Lane : The 3G SIM is intended for a future release for sure but nah, current iPhones are not 3G capable the Hardware way! 3G iPhone is due in about 45 days
I wonder why then they put a 3G sim in the iPhone when it really cannot benefit from the speed of it, and when the 3G does come out it will include a new Sim Card anyway…weird. Maybe it was a manufacturer issue to just do them all that way or something, hmmm

Yeah, works great for my brand new iphone with t-mobile. If people doesn’t know how to swap sim card, search youtube. A little concern is stats shows there is sending and receiving thruogh edge from the usage screen and I have no data service subscriptions from t-mobile.

Nope, you need not really unlock but you might want to try that as well as there is no harm doing that.
Before that, you may want to connect to iTunes as soon as you use iLiberty+, sync it and then check for youtube… If it doesn’t work, let me know the exact error message you get….
i still get “cannot connect to youtube” i have tried un-installed the activator and i re-installed it restarted my phone still get the same message…hmmm, im lost is there somehting else i should be downloading? or maybe restore and reinstall?
Well, we can try starting afresh. Make sure you have the latest versions of iLiberty+ , iTunes and you must be using 1.1.4…
Restore to 1.1.4 and use iLiberty+ and then connect to iTunes to Sync and thn try YouTube… Hopefully it will work…

i am problem with my iphone after i upgraded to 1.1.4 and than i unlock using ziphone method it unlocks it but the the problem i ran into its wifi works 2 mins and than it don’t worked keep having wifi issue coming back and dissapear although i have really good wifi connection on all my computers!

Your best bet would be to restore to 1.1.4 and then use iLiberty+ and reflash WiFi + Baseband (u see it in iLiberty+) … and then unlock

When I “Restore to 1.1.4″ in iTunes, do I backup/restore my data or do I have to start clean? (YouTube fixes have never worked for me post-Zibri.)
Followup: iLiberty suggested “new” setup, which I did, and YouTube works.
@shariq: Applecare will not help you if you have jailbroken your iPhone already as they do not support someone altering their firmware. Best bet, restore to 1.1.4 and then use Liberty+ to jailbreak and activate. I had same problems with WIFI and BlueTooth from Zibri’s versions so i switched to this method and it worked perfectly, and all wifi, bluetooth, etc. works flawlessly the 1st time. read instructions, it’s very easy to do if you can click a mouse and type a few lines

odogg : Nope, it ain’t completely true! Get an iPhone, unlock it using instructions provided on this site, and wait for approval to upgrade to Apple’s new upgrades and thats it

Pardon my igorance and obviously dumb question to ask. I have 1.1.1 that was downgraded to 1.0.2, re-virginised and upgraded to 1.1.4 using iTune, jailbroken and activated using ZiPhone v2.5c. Here comes the dumb questions:
1. Is my BB damaged in anyway?
2. How can I check my BB?
3. How do we know what ‘damage’ has ZiPhone done? Symptoms and signs that we can check?
4. What do I need to do if I wish to re-jailbreak, re-activate my iPhone that is already jailbroken and activated by ZiPhone? Anything like re-virginise or repair work?

Nope, your baseband is not damaged. All you have to do is restore to 1.1.4 which should take care of baseband and stuff. ZiPhone effects are now reversible. Restore to 1.1.4 and use iLibery+ and you are all set!

I’m trying to sync my music and contacts. Can’t do either. Is there a way to do these online?
Also, my current version of iTunes is not syncing my music. If I download the new version 7.6 will this lock my iphone again?

Well, I feel that you have not enabled music and contact syncing in iTunes. Check the different tabs to enable it.
You can only sync contacts online using funambol.com
Update to iTunes 7.6, it won’t lock your iPhone…

I would suggest you to restore your iPhone to 1.1.4 (I have covered it in one of my posts) and then try syncing, everything should work just fine!

You need not restore if its new… iLiberty+ is an enhanced version of iPlus…
Just use the software and hit unlock and installer buttons, you are good to go!

ive been using ziphone 3.0 to jailbreak n unlock my iphone.
im sure my iphone is 4.6bl bootloader coz i checked my serial number at the box.
anyway, i try to restore my iphone then jailbreak n unlock it using liberty+ 1.2.0.113. While liberty+ doing it, i can see one statement says “wrong bootloader version: 3.9_M3S2″ Abort in ten second.
after the jailbreak finish i still cant use my iphone coz itunes cant recognize my sim..
please help me..
there also an error in itunes. it says “couldnt connect to iphone because of unknown error occured ( 0xE80000023)

Fazlee : Firstly, restore your iPhone to 1.1.4 and then use iLiberty+ to unlock it. I am sure you should have no issues at all. USe latest iTunes and latest iLiberty+ and 1.1.4 …. trust me it will work! Will using iLiberty+ it will give an option to downgrade the bootloader to 3.9 fake BL, you can use that!

Carlos, Settings/General/About on the iPhone will give you version. I don’t know what you are asking about the itunes….the itunes? it’s just iTunes. Not sure what you are asking.

Hi guys, i hope you can help me…..
im kind of new to the iPhone and i want to install the installer.app on my iphone to get those third party programmes, however im having difficulties withi t. i have the iBricker on my pc but its asking me to downgrade my phone’s firmware, i done it once and it messed up my phone but i managed to restore my entire phone.
Now i have the 1.1.4 firmware on it and i really want the installer.app on my iPhone, i cant find iPlus software to download………..

You are THE MAN and credit to the dev team and ervyone else who made iLiberty possible. I just got a brand new iphone the other day and did the unlocking with iLiberty from my macbook.
It literally took 5 minutes to do it and its working flawlessly as of rightnow with BT, Youtube, Wifi, and googlemaps (locate me) features, all working fine.
Kiran I noticed that if i try to do Locate Me without wifi connection it doesnt work. I thought locate me would work without wi-fi by the tmobile reception that the phone gets. Do i need to have Edge feature working on my tmobile service for the locate me to work?
Let me know if there is something you sense is wrong with my unlocking process.

I am afraid yes, EDGE feature is required for cell triangulation. It relies on the data feature. I tried with just cellular reception and it didn’t work, the maps are rendered using a data feature. Which means both cellular reception and a dta feature are required for accurate positioning. iPhone 2.0 will have real GPS though, until then data is the way to go.

hey, i dont know if anyone has done this but i use more than 1 computer and was having this issue.
has any1 figured out a way to sync one iphone to more than just 1 machine(itunes library). i transferred all my music from my laptop to my iphone but now i want to do the same with my desktop. anyway that this can be achieved?
maybe a hack/patch that i am not aware of?

David : You can definitely sync the iPhone with more than one computer but you have to sign in to all the computers (at the max 5) with the same iTunes login.

It works with Windows and Mac.
iLiberty+ is strongly recommended though. It is an enhanced version of iPlus..

I had an iphone from US which had the version 2.0. I used the iClarified way and the pwange to update the version and download. The phone is now downloaded, I also see the symbol 'E' as Edge network. But I am unable to access internet. No youtube, safari..nothing . I went in the Network setting also and I cannot see the EDGE option. Phone calls come in and can make out going calls, also SMS is working fine. Please help me out.

its not your iphone its the network your in, if E — Edge is not working, priority is 1. wifi 2. 3g 3. EDGE otherwise and check the APN profile if you have one uninstall it and check your cellular data turn it on on the setting on your iphone
