So, all you have to do is launch the terminal and perform the following operations :
Quick Guide :
- Restore your iPhone to 1.1.4 in iTunes (from any firmware)
- Determine your firmware using *3001#12345#* and restore to 1.1.4. It never hurts restoring to 1.1.4 though!
- If it is a brand new iPhone, restore to 1.1.4 and then connect your iPhone to iTunes atleast once
- Quit iTunes and iTunesHelper (Activity Monitor)
- Download iPlus 2.0b, Unpack , open “Terminal” and cd to the directory where iPlus is extracted to and type: ./iplus -u (it jailbreaks, unlocks and activates your iPhone).
You need not install the libreadline for Mac OS X anymore, hence hassle free! Ignore the “Could not enable SSL” error message, it is a friendly error! Those all waiting for the safest unlock/jailbreak ever, time has come! This can also be used for installing installer.app with some necessary applications pre-installed! It can’t get any better!!
I recorded the entire process but SnapzPro errored out at the end 
Anyways, my observations : I used the default payload and I didn’t even quit iTunes or iTuneshelper!! Everything worked straight out of the box! Amazingly simple, ZiPhone may be tossed now! Will test the same on a PC and let you know guys!
Update : Possible Youtube fix from Larry..
Sync iPhone to be sure you have good backup of data
Take SIM out of phone
Put iPhone into Restore mode and restore firmware using iTunes
When restore is complete, Close iTunes and Quit iTuneshelper and iTunes in ActivityMonitor
Leave SIM out of iPhone and unlock iPhone with iPlus following the procedure
When iPlus is complete, re-install SIM
iPhone is completely unlocked and all applications (including YouTube) function perfectly.
So, if I restore then update my 1.1.3 iPhone to 1.1.4, I will be able to use iPlus to jailbreak/unlock and be able to use my Rogers SIM car in it?

Hey Alex, I used it without an issue on different OTB iPhones and it worked without a hitch. Did you restore to 1.1.4 before using iPlus?? You might also want to “reset all settings” on the iPhone …
I did a 1.1.4 restore before using iPlus. I am also running a 38BL. and I did just try your suggestion “reset all settings” still no go. voicemail will no dial when I press the icon. It use to work when I used the ziphone method

3.9 BL. I gave up on iplus and went back to ziphone.
What a fabulous site – you manage to trash Ziphone, which works fine and does not downgrade your baseband – just sych with iTunes and all is well – and when you all come to making your big sell, your link to downloading iPlus is busted.
If you can’t even manage a link to the download of the “safest jailbreak” available, why would I trust you with the guts of my iPhone?

Well, http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=…will be the way to go since I see youtube issues in this forum all the time but never faced it personally … Well, all th iPhones I tied iPlus on were never touched with ZiPhone, hmmm… not sure
I found the program to work very well. The only hickup I have is that YouTube gives me a “Cannot connect to YouTube” message. I saw the YouTube patch being applied to the phone during the unlock. Has anyone else had htis happen? Is there a fix for this?

Ooow, exact same specs like mine (Macbook, 2GB, Leopard though). Restore is the key, did you restore to 1.1.4 before you initiated the process?
Yes, kiran.
I had previously used ZiPhone and was unhappy with the results. I reset the phone and reloaded using recovery mode.
I used the instructions for iPlus including shutting down iTunes and killing the iTunesHelper process.
Everything went perfect.
BTW, I Don’t use YouTube that much. I would just like to have it working for those few times I like to use it.
Larry : “One note with regards to the YouTube problem – if you restore to 1.1.4, activate legitimally via iTunes and then run iPlus, YouTube won’t work. But if you disable your internet before the restore is complete and then let iPlus activate your phone, YouTube works perfectly.” Check that out!

I have just bought my iphone & its already preloaded with FM 1.1.4 .Do I also need to restore 1.1.4 in order to jailbreak/unlock/activate it with iplus. Is it necessary to apply jailbreaking process in airplane mode switched on?
John : No ned of Airplane mode, you can do that with the dummy ATT sim that came with it. No need of Airplane mode…

Thanks for the feedback guys. The problem is, I don’t have an AT&T dummy card. This phone was an upgrade from my 8GB. I do have a SIM from Tmobile I could use as a dummy…. but would this buy me anything?
All other functions of the unlocked phone are flawless. Only YouTube doesn’t work.
I am happy to take any avenue suggested.

One other thought, I do have an additional AT&T sim that was previously used with another stock phone. Is there a method to “blank” that SIM to be used as a dummy.
Question 2 – what if I do the upgrade and unlock with no SIM in the phone and then put the SIM in after the unlock. Has anyone tried that?
I unlocked my iPhone last night with iPlus and all is well, except one little bug. I can only conect to YouTube if I click on my favourites which were backed up when I restored the phone to 1.1.4 but it will not let me conect to YouTube search most viewed etc… Has anyone found out why this happens.

Nope, when an update is rolled out, wait for approval to tinker with the new firmware… and then use the new firmware

Hi, i used iplus to unlock my 16gb otb 1.1.4. Youtube didnt work so i used the tweak and its grand now, but it wont recognise my sim. Do i need to use something like iworld? Please help.

Unlocked, Activated and it did what is said it would do… save allowing my SIM to find my GSM network here. (Caribbean.) With terminal what do i need to change to let the “baseband” be totally open and hold my GSM network?

i had it in my pocket & it was a tight jeans & when i took out the iphone ,the modem firmware was showing NIL , imei was showing NIL , Wifi had dissapeared , Bluetooth had dissperaed and there was no sound in the iphone ..Like when you open the keypad ,the ‘ click ‘ sound was missing & so were all the other sounds …
Also there was a message ” Iphone cannot make or receive calls and needs repair .pls visit http://www.apple.com ” .

Tried iPlus and everything is working fine except one thing: WiFi. It keeps droping down and turns to edge. I cant use wifi at all and each time i’m trying to go to installer there is no way to use wifi. Does anyone else have the same problem and is there any fix for that? Thanks in advance. My iphone was 1.1.2 OTB and unlocked it months ago with Ziphone. A couple of days ago i put firm 1.1.4 and unlocked it with iLiberty+ and had the same problem.Today i used iPlus but problem persists.

I would suggest you try reflashing edge/wifi (option in iLiberty+), it might work
ZiPhone caused the issue probably..
Hi Kiran and thanks for your advice but there isn’t such an option in iliberty. you can only reflash the baseband if you intend that.
It is actually reflash Edge/WiFi/Bluetooth. Update iLiberty+ and try reflashing it.
Kiran i have the latest version of iLiberty+ witch is 1.3.0.113 and the repo i use is the default one: http://iLiberty.zjlotto.com/repo.plist
In this repo i can only get:
1. Fix for no signal, no wifi, no bluetooth
2. Devteam gray wifi fix.
I’ve tried both of them and can’t resolve the problem.
Actually i’ve tried all possible combinations with no success.
Now what is going on is this.
I can only use wifi from inside the programm i use like safari or mail or installer.
A pop up window appears where i can choose my wifi connection (but i always get the same message of that it can’t connect to the connection).
When i want to switch to another programm wifi drops and i have to turn wifi off and on and then use the programm i want.
It is really frustrating.
Frankly speaking, this issue is first of its sort as far as my iPhone experience is concerned.
I would use BootNeuter to get your iPhone back to factory settings (3.9BL, and other possible options).
Now restore iPhone to 1.1.4 and then use iLiberty+, I don’t see any reason why it should not work.
My iphone experience it’s not the best so i would sujjest the following and tell me if it could be done.
My iphone was a 1.1.2 OTB with 4.6BL.
What if i restore to 1.1.4 original via itunes and then unlock it with iliberty but without checking the downgrade to 3.9Bl Fake.
Sould i have any problems?

When i was on 1.1.2 everything was perfect. I just cant figure out what the problem is and why wifi keeps droping down moving from one app to another.

I think I messed up my iphone by installing Hidepod from one of the sources and now the installer app isnt functioning properly.
Here is what I did last night:
Install Hidepod1.0.9 from Bigboss’s Apps and Things and it was the unregistered version. I wanted to see how the app worked so I opened the app and hide a video and than went to the ipod app in my dock. the video the i had hiden was still visible in my ipod but when i tried to open it (in ipod) would say “Error file corrupt cannot open” something like that. So i thought ok let me play it in Hidepod and it worked fine, but when I tried to revert it back to unhidden, it no longer plays in tha Ipod app. The video shows in the list of videos but when i open it, the screen goes black for 2 seconds and throws me back to the list of video. This is only happening with the videos i tried to hide, all other are working fine.
What is more of a concern to me is that the installer doesnt work as before after I uninstalled Hidepod from the uninstall page. The problem being that I cannot seem to download any more apps, i tried with different sources but none work. It gives me the following error “Error: Package download failed”.
So I dont know what i should do now? Any suggestions? any way to to reinstall Installer it self?

I just tried to install and app and it gave me the error like before but i waited and i tried after like couple of seconds than i was able to install the app. All the sources working for me except for one. Can you try and see if this source is giving you the same problem:

can you check out if you are able to download any appz from that source?
Also I dont know but my installer has become slower, but i am happy that its not completely messed up. And one more thing, when you are using you iphone if you place your ear next to the phone’s speaker, do you hear a sssssss kind of noise? I do but only when i am using the phone.
You might want to delete the repos in question. the repo ending with .cn doesn’t seem very comfortable. Delete all the sources and then try installing the trusted sources, hopefully you will end up with a normal working phone saving a complete restore!

I just didn’t wanna update my iPhone cause I wanted to wait ’till its really safe and 1.1.1 was the easiest fw to jailbreak though. Should I restore it to 1.1.1 fw first or can I just update it in iTunes

Tom, you can directly restore to 1.1.4. Restore us the key here though! Interestingly, you find 1.1.1 to be stable!

Try putting it on Flight mode (settings – network) and back to phone mode. Chekc the signal reception. Nothing to panic, a firmware upgrade might do the trick finally.
I Have a question for Barry or Kiran. I have the same problem. That means no network appears. I tried plaine mode, resetting network settings, resetting all settings. nothing worked! Can you help me?
