has any1 found a loophole in getting the new iphone 3g without the contract? i have looked around but all the ways i found possible were either fraudulent/illegal or lenthy-timewise…

ITS time… less than 20 hrs remain for the release of iphone 3G, i am personally not wait to get on line to buy it but i am hoping for the release of the 2.0 firmware upgrade…

what is EFT? and yea i think you are right with ATT steping back becuase when they see the comparison of the amount of iphone 3Gs sold to the last year’s iphone 1.0 sold during the 1st week, the chances are apple will try to persuade ATT in taking a step back. Thats what i am hoping and i dont think i am alone in that.

True, best bet would be to hold off for some time, atleast a week to see what would come out of this July 11th deal. I am sure it would be far more lesser number of activations given the price (plan) and ATT’s cruel intentions! I would rather wait for the hackers to come out with the necessary tools and activate the device myself. I would like to acquire the device by adding a new line and terminating after 30 days paying ETF or buying it on eBay coupled with Microsoft’s cashback! Not sure but I have a feeling ATT might take a step back….

THIS IS JUST IN… Some bad news:

The new IPHONE 3G will require you new/existing customers to activate (sign 2 year contract) before leaving the store instead of the old iphone procedure which was done completely at home in itunes.

So no matter what, any person who wants to own an Iphone 3G will need to sign a 2-year contract…. I wonder what the price will be for a person who wants to go on the At&t prepaid becuase I highly doubt that Apple will release FACTORY UNLOCKED Iphone 3Gs.
