It is a 2 step process : Jailbreak and store your SHSH files for all firmware versions before the release of the next firmware version by Apple.

If you have SHSH files stored at different firmware versions, then yes you can use Saurik's signature server or better yet, use TinyUmbrella. It will show what firmware you are eligible to downgrade to and the simplest way of doing so!

does this signature server work for those who a running Firmware Version 4.1 with baseband 5.14.02. anyone have any idea?

I need more input. Spirit works with 3.1.3 firmware. You may also try custom firmware.

hello i got new iphone 3gs i m in dubai and updated in v 4 but its shows no service after updating it and then i done restore from itune without holding sift key its shows now only usb and itune icone and when i slide to open its shows only emergency call

wht should i do to use it any one help me pls

Your only option if you don't have an official iPhone contract is using custom firmware. If you have never jailbroken your iPhone 3GS, you can only use iOS 4 now. I will post the links to the custom firmware shortly.

It means it is waiting for activation.

Do you have AT&T or the official iPhone carrier? If yes, launch iTunes and it shall activate.

If you don't have an official carrier, use Custom firmware to restore it to an activated firmware and get past emergency screen. Look for the unlock guides in the menu…

help pls , i got iphone 3gs (new one ) and i made restore from i tunes without holding shift ,,
and my iphone screen is the( cable & itune icon )and emergency call only .. what can i do ??
