Following are various options to buy an iPhone 5, unlocked :

Buy one from Craigslist or eBay, even if it is locked to a carrier. You can always unlock them. It is cheaper that way!

Until recently, unlocking the iPhone has been a great deal. Having covered the iPhone since the original iPhone was unveiled, I know how much of a pain unlocking the iPhone can be. It required heavy technical skills at first followed by user friendly tools. It would require jailbreaking the device first and then unlocking using ultrasn0w. I don’t even want to start about the ugly Gevey SIMs! Not anymore. With the iPhone exclusivity contract between Apple and AT&T expired, things got better. Unlocking the device to use on T-Mobile, Prepaid ...

Tim Cook openly apologized about the sub-par iOS 6 maps. He suggested a whole bunch of 3rd party apps instead. Google reportedly did not hand over the necessary data for turn-by-turn directions which prompted Apple to release their own mapping solution.
Apple v/s Scout : My experiences
I personally used Scout app (by TeleNav) when it was free for a month. I launched it on the iPhone 5 and lo behold, Scout offered a free year of turn-by-turn based navigation which is voice enabled. It is pretty neat and gets the job ...

Not sure if I am doing something terribly wrong but landscape shots are always Letterboxed on the iPhone 5.
I would like to know why! It is really annoying. Josh’s review showed one of this letterboxing. I don’t think I want to edit every image taken with iPhone 5 to remove the letterboxing.
Here is a raw sample shot with my iPhone 5.

It looks fine once imported but on the iPhone itself, it shows those 2 ugly black strips in landscape mode.

Don’t get me wrong – iPhone 5 has a stunning camera ...

So, what Apple can do to not be such a bore with the UI is that they should take those touch gestures to the next level. Remember the very first jailbreak where you could launch a rainbow like list of App ...
