How to Unlock iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G iOS 4.0.x for T-Mobile and other Carriers [ultrasn0w]

iPhone 4 was recently jailbroken and now it is unlocked too, thanks to the Dev Team. It cannot be easier, no PC/Mac required, only the internets!
All you need are the following :
- A Jailbroken iPhone 4 / 3GS,3G (it should be activated, that is a pre-req for online jailbreak)
- A WiFi connection
- That is pretty much it!
Step by step (best practices) :
- Launch Cydia and search for ultrasn0w [if not found, then add repo : repo666.ultrasn0w.com in Cydia]
- Install ultrasn0w and reboot your iPhone 4 when prompted. Turn 3G off (Settings -> Network -> Enable 3G -> Off) if you are using T-Mobile.
- Make sure you have SBSettings installed. If you don’t know what it is, just search for it in Cydia and install it.
- Search for SBSettings ultrasn0w toggle and install it.
- Launch SBSettings by swiping on date at the top on the homescreen and tap ‘more’ and ‘Set Toggles’. Make sure ultrasn0w is set to ‘on’.
- Now launch SBSettings and enable/disable ultrasn0w by tapping ultrasn0w toggle in one of the rows of icons. You have to enable it if you are using a SIM form a carrier who doesn’t officially provide an iPhone. Rest of the cases, just disable it. This saves memory and battery (however minuscule it is!)
Following are the iPhone baseband(s) that can be unlocked using ultrasn0w 1.0-1
- Apple iPhone 4 baseband 01.59
- Apple iPhone 3G/3GS basebands 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01 and 05.13.04
Recommended firmware : iOS 4.0 or iOS 4.0.1 depending on the activation status of your iPhone.

Great job to the dev team…but i am still stuck with my friends 3GS i think it is on 301 or 311 don't remember…anyways…..is there a way to jailbreak stock firmware…whether it being 301 or 311 is there a way to jailbreak fresh stock firmware for iOS4 for 3GS?
Try jailbreakme.com from mobile safari. I did not test this on 3.x.x firmware but it may work. Can you activate the iPhone btw?
thats the part he us stuck on he can't even jailbreak it.as of matter of fact, the idiot updated to the newest firmware..what can we do about this..

Can you activate it on iOS 4? Do you have access to an official iPhone SIM? If yes, then it is simple and easy. If not, you may still try jailbreakme.com trick and then install ultrasn0w!
How provides micro sim in India to use in iphone4 ?

Yep, I tried and it fits. As long as the metal plates on SIM are not harmed! The carrier will replace the SIM if something goes wrong anyway. I am sure you will make it. If yes, send me pictures, I am planning on writing a guide!

I have a 3gs running on 4.0 (thanks to your customware). I don't have an official iphone sim, and my iphone is currently safely unlocked.
Can I update to 4.0.1 with this unofficial sim? Is it even worth it?

Unfortunately, iPhone 4 is yet to be unlocked at 4.1+ firmware. We will have to wait for the unlock.
