Unlock the Apple iPhone – A Definitive Guide

non_cingular.jpgI am crawling all around the web for iPhone Unlocking solutions and am listing the following links which will automatically tell you when a solution is found. Theoritically speaking iPhone is Quad-Band which is not a pre-requisite for US networks which means that it is ready to be used all over the world. There is more good news, according to AT&T rules, it should provide Unlock Codes for all the GSM phones :)

    Hence – unlocking will always do good even with upgrades!!

    ~~~~ Well, there has been rumors of it being unlocked but I personally believe that only hardware/ TurboSIM unlocked iPhones exist… I doubt the s/w unlock cos’ it might be a publicity stunt from those sites claiming to have unlocked it and you know how s/w once released to the remotest possible person can float around the interent ;)

    Aside from using Bladox Turbo Sims or a soldering iron, there is now way to unlock the iphone from the AT&T network.

    There is definetly solutions out there – keep checking http://www.iphonesimfree.com and http://www.iphoneunlocking.com – they both have the solutions but are scared of selling them in case they get sued.

    Hopefully they will start selling the solution – rumoured to be charged at about $25 per unlock. I just keeping checking their websites every day.

    I wouldn’t bother trying to get the Bladox Turbo Sim – they are out of stock at both of the two main suppliers (Bladox http://www.bladox.com and Votech http://www.votech.au)

    Becuase they both got swamped with orders, Bladox went out of stock for a week or so, and are now only taking orders for 5 units or more. Votech’s site is now “temporarily suspended”

    I ordered my turbo sim weeks ago, and expect it in a week or so, as it is coming from Australia.

    In the meantime, why not Activate your phone and play around with some cool hacks – I recommend the NES hack where you can transform your Iphone into a fully blown Nintendo!

    Well, as far as my knowledge goes, iTunes should not be a problem with unlocked iPhones… 1.1.1 upgrade process should be done properly though….

    Dont worry about the latest itunes , we can always download an older version!!

    Well, Video capability is rumored to be pushed as a firmware upgrade this Christmas. To install it, you may have to virginize your iPhone and do a little bit of hacking. You have to unlock it again unfortunately :(
