iPhone Compatible Video Streaming (Free) – The Complete Guide!
UPDATE (Sep 27, 2009) : There are various Streaming Video apps on App Store (firmware v2.x and up). Some of my favorite Free Video apps on iPhone available on App Store are : (search these names on the App Store)
- Joost
- Truveo
- VSnax
MxTube app available on Cydia will even let you watch high quality videos on iPhone. It also lets you download and save them to your iPhone!
So, you are not so happy with videos on Youtube(!!) and you want to search for videos from different video sites – say DailyMotion.com and so on. Exalead released an iPhone optimized version of their Search engine – i.exalead.com . With a lovely interface – this lil’ website really deserves credit for bringing all the iPhone compatible video streams right to your iPhone

List of sites offering free streaming content :
- i.exalead.com
- iphone.dailymotion.com
- Joost, VSnax, Truveo on App Store
- MxTube on Cydia

Does anybody know how can I watch my ip camera thru my iphone?
I have linksys wireless ip cam but i cannot watch it with safari from my ip adress.
Thanks for help
the reason why you can’t see from your iPhone is that its not streamed in mp4 format….iPhone only supports mp4 video playback
http://www.cam-viewer.com is an iphone optimized site for viewing ip cameras.
but the phone will stream flv’s…go to tube8.com…
I just got a Linksys WVC54G-CA and it works fine with the safari browser. I’m not sure if whatever cam you have has the option, but the settings on mine are under ‘image’ in the web settings.

It’s an iPhone compatible porn site, who cares about that? Besides, it’s completely unrelated.
Does anyone know of any good video archive sites compatible with the iPhone? I’d use YouTube, but it stops halfway through the series I’m watching.(If you must know, it’s Naruto.) If anyone could give me a link to a site like I mentioned, I would greatly appreciate it.

Why must we jail break? Jail breaking doesn't guarantee that you will be able to do anything you want with an iPhone. Most of the time there are legitimate apps available to do what you want in the Apple app store.
Isn't it up to app developers to license video codecs for their apps for formats not natively offered by the operating system? Video codecs aren't necessarily free. The .mp4 codec isn't free. Apple licenses that codec for use in iPhone OS. You pay for it when you buy the iPhone. App developers have a right to sell apps to make up their costs in the App store. How many apps do we need that can play .mp4 formats when they are natively supported and can be viewed via any web browser on the iPhone?
