iPhone Firmware 3.1.2 Released : Stay away from it as always!

8 October 2009 23 Comments

One more minor upgrade to the 3.1 iPhone firmware that was recently released. Please be cautious when updating your iPhone to the latest firmware using iTunes. This cannot be jailbroken nor unlocked at the moment. Since it is a minor firmware upgrade, we can definitely live without it for few more days!

Play it safe with iTunes updates people!

If you do upgrade by mistake don't worry there is a solution. Just down grade to OS3.0
1: Turn off the internet connection on your computer.
2: put your phone in DFU.
    3: Restore to 3.0 custom firmware ( shift + enter )
4: A Restore Process will start. At the end of restore process following error message “Unknown
error occurred (1015)” will be displayed.
5: Do not panic with above error message. You just need to ignore above error message and click on OK button
    6: Launch Redsn0w
7: Browse for your 3.0 custom firmware and let Redsn0w do the rest.
