iPhone hacker Niacin has come up with a new tool called iBooter. This tool uses iPhuc to directly interact with the iBoot (apple bootloader) without iTunes i.e. it’s independent of iTunes and the mobile device library. It allows the user to do alot of things like debugging the phone booting issues and many other features including the customization of booting screen. It even solves the annoying issue of greyed out Wi- fi on the iPhone. This tool is available for Windows/ Mac/ Linux platforms with/ without iTunes installed. More information …

anySIM is confirmed to behave rather odd as far as the unlock procedure is concerned. The sound malfunction and unlock failure following the GUI unlock methods (iUnlock, anySIM) forced me to go the traditional, terminal way as described @ http://iphone.unlock.no/.
