Unlock the Apple iPhone – A Definitive Guide

non_cingular.jpgI am crawling all around the web for iPhone Unlocking solutions and am listing the following links which will automatically tell you when a solution is found. Theoritically speaking iPhone is Quad-Band which is not a pre-requisite for US networks which means that it is ready to be used all over the world. There is more good news, according to AT&T rules, it should provide Unlock Codes for all the GSM phones 🙂

  7. in response to djlego….the link uve given has a software, does the phone actually get unlocked and be useful with other gsm networks or is it just another way to unlock the phone for wifi and ipod usage?

    ~~~~ Well, there has been rumors of it being unlocked but I personally believe that only hardware/ TurboSIM unlocked iPhones exist… I doubt the s/w unlock cos’ it might be a publicity stunt from those sites claiming to have unlocked it and you know how s/w once released to the remotest possible person can float around the interent 😉

  12. Man guys guys guys. I’m in the Philippines already using my unlock iphone. It’s so Easy..PIECE of cake…I’m the first Pinoy that’s probably using it here right now. all my buddy’s are dazzled w/ my phone yep yep…I’m using Globe right now in Manila…DonDOn

  16. PINOY/IPHONE – that was the most useless comment ever. Very happy for you.

    Aside from using Bladox Turbo Sims or a soldering iron, there is now way to unlock the iphone from the AT&T network.

    There is definetly solutions out there – keep checking http://www.iphonesimfree.com and http://www.iphoneunlocking.com – they both have the solutions but are scared of selling them in case they get sued.

    Hopefully they will start selling the solution – rumoured to be charged at about $25 per unlock. I just keeping checking their websites every day.

    I wouldn’t bother trying to get the Bladox Turbo Sim – they are out of stock at both of the two main suppliers (Bladox http://www.bladox.com and Votech http://www.votech.au)

    Becuase they both got swamped with orders, Bladox went out of stock for a week or so, and are now only taking orders for 5 units or more. Votech’s site is now “temporarily suspended”

    I ordered my turbo sim weeks ago, and expect it in a week or so, as it is coming from Australia.

    In the meantime, why not Activate your phone and play around with some cool hacks – I recommend the NES hack where you can transform your Iphone into a fully blown Nintendo!

  19. I have T-mobile, if I get an unlock iphone… will the internet and the youtube work on there? any functions get messed up?

    ~~~~~ I am using YouTube jus fine after partially unlocking it (using my old cingular a/c!!). Yeah, except for VoiceMail, all other features work. Regarding YouTube, visit this link of mine.

    I have iphone firmware 1.0.2, and I was wondering which iTunes should I use to sync it with my computer? I am afraid if I use any of the newer versions of iTunes it will lock itself again.

  25. since u guys seem to know so much tell me if it is possible to unlock the iphone now and when it becomes avilable in ur country to go back to the old settings and use the legal sim that will then be provided by the then carriers
