Until recently, unlocking the iPhone has been a great deal. Having covered the iPhone since the original iPhone was unveiled, I know how much of a pain unlocking the iPhone can be. Tim Cook openly apologized about the sub-par iOS 6 maps. He suggested a whole bunch of 3rd party apps instead. Google reportedly did not hand over the necessary data for turn-by-turn directions which prompted Apple to release their own mapping solution.

Not sure if I am doing something terribly wrong but landscape shots are always Letterboxed on the iPhone 5.
I would like to know why! It is really annoying. Josh’s review showed one of this letterboxing. I don’t think I want to edit every image taken with iPhone 5 to remove the letterboxing.
Here is a raw sample shot with my iPhone 5.

It looks fine once imported but on the iPhone itself, it shows those 2 ugly black strips in landscape mode.

You will need a nano-SIM for your iPhone 5 which your carrier provides. You might also cut your original SIM or micro-SIM to fit in your iPhone 5. I generally don’t sign contracts. I prefer buying phones with no-commitment pricing (generally Craigslist or eBay). I had to sign a contract to get the iPhone 5 since it is not immediately available as an unlocked variant.

Apple iPhone 5 preorders debuted at 3:00 AM EST today giving folks in the west coast an unfair advantage. The delivery times are now showing a 2 week delay at Apple. Ordering from your carrier (in may case, AT&T which still says the iPhone 5 can be delivered on Sep 21st) or Walmart (at a discount, no less!) might be your best bets.
