iPhone 1.1.4 upgrade hasn’t been a trouble-free update for many. There really is no good reason to update to 1.1.4 at this time, probably SDK might need it in the future. So, you accidentally upgraded to 1.1.4, now what? How do we get back to a much better firmware?
Download 1.1.3 / 1.1.2 firmwares from this link.
I have followed these steps on a 4.6 BL iPhone as well as 3.6 BL iPhone. If you have used IPSF like unlock before (Gunlokc/iJailbreak/ZiPhone), then you can still follow these steps.

Your 1.1.4 …

Once iNdependence v 1.4b5 was released with 1.1.4 support, I went ahead and updated the iPhone (16GB 1.1.3 OTB unlocked using iJailbreak)from 1.1.2 to 1.1.4 via iTunes which gave me an error. I repeated the same and the update went fine and now I have version 1.1.4 installed on the iPhone.
I then fired iNdependence trying to jailbreak/activate my iPhone. I hit the Activate button and it didn’t respond in a timely fashion showing me the Jailbreak screen. I then hit the Jailbreak tab to Jailbreak the iPhone which gave me …

Read my horror story with iNdependence on a 1.1.4 updated 16GB iPhone. Don’t use it and don’t upgrade to 1.1.4 yet.
iNdependence released an Activation / Sim Unlock solution for iPhone 1.1.4 firmware! That was fast, though 1.1.4 got not-so-interesting updates ( a probable SDK support maybe ). This version uses gunlock sim unlocking solution from Geohot 🙂 They claim this tool to be a much more efficient solution compared to Zibri’s offerings.

Download iNDependence v1.4b5 for your Macs!
– iTunes 7.6.1 Support
– Added SIM unlocking on firmware 1.1.4 (using gunlock)
– Changed …

iPhone devs quickly released an update of iNdependence for compatibility with the latest iTunes update version 7.6 . iPhone 1.1.3 is strictly not supported yet with this version. Hackers are decrypting firmware 1.1.3 and for a jailbreak solution – it might take some time. So, continue enjoying iNdependence for all your other needs (Activating and Unlocking upto 1.1.2). Lets wish the iPhone devs ‘Good Luck’!! If anyone can spare an iPhone for their development, that had be great! Download the updated version now!! Hope it comes out of beta with …

Yes, the word is out. Though it was practically possible as soon as Jailbreak for 1.1.1 was announced but it took me many hours of tweaking (more than 18) but couldn’t get my Cingular sim back at work (without the 2 year contract). I searched all over the internet but none were reporting positively about 1.1.1 Jailbreak let alone Cingular working on it. This post at TechDadBlog initiated hope after clueless searches on Google for 1.1.1 hack. Vaughan and Mike did a great job on trying different alternatives. Finally, with …
